What we buy

Good businesses with strong foundations

We are industry-flexible. What matters most is the quality of the business, the people, and the opportunity to own it well for decades.

Understandable & cash-generative

Established businesses with demonstrable earnings, real cash flow and economics we can understand and underwrite.

Durable customer value

Repeat demand, strong relationships, reputation, know-how, or another defensible reason customers continue to choose the business.

Transitionable

Operations that can succeed beyond the current owner, ideally with capable employees or managers and a practical transition plan.

Room to improve

Clear opportunities to strengthen systems, operations, technology, sales, leadership or execution — without changing what customers already value.

Flexible on size

We consider small, medium and larger businesses when the economics, people and ownership opportunity make sense. Durable cash generation and a sensible capital structure matter more than an arbitrary transaction-size box.

Local or relatable

Southern California is our priority, especially Claremont and nearby communities. We will also pursue businesses that are close enough to own well or sufficiently relocatable, digital or understandable from a distance.

Industry flexible, with a practical bias

Manufacturing, distribution and straightforward service businesses are especially attractive, but we are open to almost any industry we can understand and be proud to own. We generally avoid businesses dependent on the buyer personally holding a specialized professional license, as well as healthcare, cannabis and auto repair.

Structure is a tool, not a constraint

We solve for the right transaction rather than a predetermined structure. Conventional financing, SBA, seller financing, earnouts and rollover participation can all be considered when they create alignment, healthy post-debt economics and a better transition.
